Welcher & Welcher is a unique comedy series created by, and starring one of Australia’s best comic performers, Shaun Micallef.

SYNOPSIS
Quentin Welcher (Shaun Micallef) is a man driven by a massive ego. A solicitor who fancies himself as a barrister, Quentin envisages himself as respected by his peers, a mentor to his staff and the patriarch of Welcher & Welcher, the law firm established by his father. In his eyes, his wife looks up to him both personally and professionally and his devoted son is keen to follow in his footsteps. In reality however, Quentin is a pompous, accident-prone fool and a terrible lawyer to boot. He struggles with the everyday grind and his authority is questioned at every turn. He is blessed with the initials Q.C, which is the closest he’ll ever get to Queen’s Counsel.

The best thing Quentin has going for him is Kate (Robyn Butler), the other Welcher; a fine solicitor, office manager and also his wife. Practical and principled, Kate’s clients are the pro bono oppressed and downtrodden, as opposed to the nameless corporations and malingering car accident victims who make up Quentin’s roster. Mind you, Quentin’s clients pay for hers, so…

The newest recruit to Welcher & Welcher is Peter/Paul Cohen (Francis Greenslade). Earnest, hard working, and a good Christian whose wife is pregnant with quadruplets, he is Quentin’s idea of hell on earth.

Kate and Quentin are supported in the office by their PA Jan (Anita Smith) – the longest serving member of the firm, first employed by Quentin’s father. She knows more about the office than Quentin ever could. She is also definitely not sleeping with Griffin (Santo Cilauro); the computer technician called in seven months ago for a four-week upgrade of the system. Tia the receptionist (Nina Liu) rounds out the office staff, along with an articled clerk who exists somewhere within the building, and the painters, who seem to be going for the Guiness World Record for taking the longest time ever to paint an office.
